I subscribe to the Daily Post and I get their blog prompts. As a blogger who regularly gets “stuck” these can be super helpful getting the creative juices flowing. If you don’t already subscribe, I would highly recommend it. Usually, I don’t use the specific prompts as topics but they help me think generate new content ideas. However, the prompt on March 31 really stuck with me. I kept coming back to it and it resonated with me.
Often, our blogs have taglines. But what if humans did, too? What would your tagline be?
What would my tagline be? In a previous post, I’ve written about how difficult picking a tagline for the blog was. Picking one for me as a person isn’t any easier and yet I really want one. Is that silly?
I used to use an old Ani DiFranco line for all my “quotes” in social media.
So much shouting. So much laughter.
I think this line really captured my personality when I was younger but now I’m not so sure. The irony being that this line was describing a group of teenagers on the train. Now that I’m over 30, I don’t know that I identify with it the same. I’m a shouter and I’m a laugher but I’m also more pensive and thoughtful now. I like to look before I leap. I like a tidy home with order and structure. I’m not really interested in being the loudest person on the train. I don’t know that I’d say I’m all grown up though. I still laugh loudly and easily. I hope I never stop that. I’ve got a voice that carries and am often shocked to realize my volume increased without my intent. These days I think I’m less shouting and more self soothing. My tagline could be “Breathe, rinse, repeat.” I’m trying to figure out how to function in the world of adults without truly becoming one. My tagline could be “Don’t grow up. It’s a trap!” I think for now though, I’ll leave it as “A work in progress.” I’m not sure what my tagline is but I think I’m going to stew on it for a little bit. Do you have a human tagline for yourself? How did you select it?
