Today is one of those days. Nothing seems to be going right and all the pieces refuse to fall into place. It’s late in the evening and I am still online slugging along with a project when I realize that my developers have duplicated my users.
This probably doesn’t mean much to you. But for me, it’s the end of the day and I just learned that there is a lot more work to be done. This is the project that never ends. I started to get annoyed. I started to complain.
And then, I decided instead to laugh.
I’m laughing at the silliness of it. I’m laughing because I’m tired of complaining. I’m laughing because I’m making the choice to laugh instead of cry or scream or grumble. (Ok, maybe this post is a little grumbly.)
And why choose laughter?
Because, “a day without laughter is a day wasted.” – Charlie Chaplin
And you know what? I felt better once I started laughing.
Because it’s not the end of the world. Because it’s a good excuse to stop working, grab a glass of wine and enjoy life. This issue will exist regardless of how I react. It’ll be resolved eventually no matter what I do right now.
So right now, I’m going to laugh. I’m going to pause and refocus. I’m going to grab a glass of vino and enjoy my life.
